It’s about this person is really sad and his life gives him the blues so he goes out and gets drunk and parties and dances and does wild crazy things to try and forget all his troubles. But he’s also “like a runaway train” because he’s not dealing with his problems he just keeps racing around partying like a fool and probably making things worse. That’s how I read it anyway.
“feeling shady” is like “feeling blue” – I think when people say it’s “stanky” or “filthy” they mean the mood of the song, the ‘down & dirty feel of the Nile’s bass, how this would effect people who heard it in a nightclub (ie you would “dirty dance” to it) etc. Not the lyrics.
